Shawano Downtown is pleased to present the 26th annual Santa Parade in sponsorship with Charlie’s County Market. The Santa Parade will be held Friday, December 4 with a new twist this year. Rather than large groups of spectators gathering along Main Street, attendees will remain safely in their vehicles and drive along the parade route. Stationary floats will be positioned along the route for all to see.
Parade attendees will remain in their vehicles and drive the parade route starting at the corner of Elizabeth and Main Street, proceed north on Main Street through the heart of Shawano Downtown, and turn left at Green Bay Street. Vehicles will then turn left on Washington Street and drive by Franklin Park to view 50 lighted Christmas trees. View map. Parade attendees should line up, in their vehicles, in the Elizabeth Street parking lot (enter off Lincoln Street). Each vehicle will receive a goodie bag of candy and items from the parade entrants. As an added bonus, Shawano Downtown gift certificates will be randomly hidden in the goodie bags. The drive-through parade begins at 6 p.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. Parade attendees do not need to be lined up at 6 p.m.; this is a drive-through event that will remain open from 6 to 8 p.m.
For those businesses and organizations wishing to participate in this year’s parade, lineup begins at 4 p.m. Enter at Richmond Street and head north to where a parade volunteer will greet you and assign a parking location.
This year’s parade theme is “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” To enter your business or organization in the parade, visit https://www.shawanodowntown.com/santa-parade. Please note pre-registration is REQUIRED for this year’s parade.
Trophies will be awarded in the following categories: Best Use of Theme, Best Non-profit entry, Best Business entry, Best Children’s entry and People’s Choice.
