Shawano Downtown Business Owners Honored

Shawano Downtown business owners were honored at Thursday night’s Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce banquet.

Bob Dumke was named Distinguished Citizen of the Year. From volunteering with the Wild Ones, chairing the Farmer’s Market board, caring about downtown businesses, serving on the Shawano tree advisory committee and so much more, Bob is most deserving of this award!

Bob and his wife, Nancy, own The Cobbler’s Closet located at 118 S. Main Street. The Dumkes are great supporters and participants of downtown events and activities. While a customer may enter their store looking for a pair of shoes, they’ll leave with so much more – a Shawano Country visitor guide, recommendation for lunch and a suggestion or two for sites to see. The Dumkes are great promoters of everything Shawano. Congratulations, Bob!

David and Heather Pahl, Martin Jewellers, were awarded the Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce Retail Business of the Year. David and Heather purchased the business in 2017 from Jim Martin, but the business dates back to 1960 when Jim’s parents started an in-home clock and watch repair shop.

David and Heather continue the tradition of providing great customer service to customers in downtown Shawano. From custom-made jewelry and engagement rings to watch repair, engraving and trophies, Martin Jewellers has so much to offer.

Heather serves as Vice President of the Shawano Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) board and also represents BID at the Redevelopment Authority and the Shawano Industrial and Commercial Development committee. She is a great asset to our downtown!

Stop by to visit Martin Jewellers at 148 S. Main Street; the coffee pot is always on!
